British Kendo Association Terms & Conditions
Health & Safety: The British Kendo Association tries to ensure the health and safety of participants in all of its activities. To this end the Association has published policies and guidelines relating to Health & Safety and Child & Vulnerable Persons (see www.britishkendoassociation.com ). It is a condition of membership that all members (individuals and dojo) undertake to follow these guidelines. The Association cannot be held responsible for breach of these policies.
BKA Equipment: From time to time members and officers may be required to transport, store and care for BKA owned property. For the avoidance of doubt, in such circumstances the property ownership remains with the BKA and, unless agreed in writing beforehand, no charges will be payable.
Data Protection Act 1998: The BKA keeps the information provided about your membership in an electronic database. This information is used only for the purposes of administering the BKA and the functions provided to members by the BKA. This information will not be provided to any 3rd party for any purpose other than that necessary for BKA membership purposes.
In making payment the applicant confirms that he/she has read and understood the constitution of the British Kendo Association ( see www.britishkendoassociation.com ) and agrees to abide by the constitution.
The Association offers the following types of individual membership:
Ordinary individual ConcessionaryJunior MembershipTemporary Visitor MembershipAssociate MembershipTemporary individual

You have the right to cancel this application within seven days. In order to cancel your application please email the membership secretary to this effect quoting your full name and postal address, BKA membership number, payment reference number, date and amount paid. A refund cheque for the full amount (less an administration fee of 5 GBP) will be posted to the home address of the applicant.
You are entitled to a refund of your application fee, less deduction of an administration fee of 5 GBP if you have failed to find a BKA dojo which is willing to accept you within 3 months of the date of this application. In this event please email the membership secretary to this effect quoting your full name and postal address, BKA membership number, the payment reference number, date and amount paid and the name(s) of the dojo you have approached to join. A refund cheque (less administration fee) will be posted to the home address of the applicant.
You are entitled to a full refund of your application fee if the BKA fails to hold the event/grading for which your payment has been accepted. In this event please email the membership secretary to this effect quoting your full name and postal address, BKA membership number, the payment reference number, date and amount paid and the details of the event/grading for which payment was accepted. A refund cheque will be posted to the home address of the applicant. You are not entitled to a refund if the BKA holds the event/grading and you are unable to attend.
